Keisuke Gyoza King @ Orchid Hotel, Singapore

Monday, January 06, 2014

This is Ramen Keisuke 5th outlet in Singapore. Each brings a different concept and menu, and the 5th outlet is special as it is not a ramen shop like the rest of the four outlets. A little background on Keisuke Takeda, he won the Ramen Champion Series among 30,000 over ramen chefs and became the top ramen chef in Japan. He used to be a French chef for 12 years in Japan, how interesting!

All thanks to Keisuke, I can taste Japan all over again! Missing Japan and its food very much (though I was there just three months ago). Keisuke Gyoza King is the closest I can get to the gyoza I had in Japan, in Singapore. Their gyoza comes in three different types, Tonkotsu King Gyoza, Tori King Gyoza and Keisuke Prawn Gyoza.

The banners and wordings are so big, you can't miss them.
It is just a few minutes walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station, exit A.
You'll be passing by Keisuke Tonkotsu King (2nd Ramen Keisuke outlet) first, then walk further down to Keisuke Gyoza King.

Value for money set meal at S$13.90 and it comes with 2 choices of side dishes, one soup and rice. Up to 8 side dishes, 2 soup choices and quantity of rice to choose from.
Ordering will be through the ordering sheet, similar to some Japan's eateries.

Open concept kitchen just like in Japan :)

Sushi bar table concept as it iss a rather small area and limited seating capacity, so be prepared to queue on crowded nights.
Unlike Chinese where their gyoza sauce are vinegar and ginger slices, Japanese eats it differently, they have the recipe of mixing the sauces.

Not forgetting to mention the FREE FLOW of pickles and beansprouts!! Yummy spicy beansprouts~

Keisuke Prawn Gyoza - prawn fillings
Juicy juicy!! I personally prefer the prawn fillings to pork fillings.

Tonkotsu King Gyoza - pork fillings
Crispy on the outside and juicy inside~

The yummy side dishes! From top right to left: Stir Fried Egg with Tomato, Chicken Nanban with Tartar Sauce, Deep Fried Tofu with Minced Pork Gravy and Stir Fried Pork and Cabbage with Miso.
I strongly recommend the Chicken Nanban with Tartar Sauce! :D

Oh I recommend Vegetable Soup to Miso Soup though :)
Sure to go back for more!!
